Adelaide Youth Theatre (AYT) was formed in 2010 by Emma Riggs and Kerreane Sarti to help introduce the youth of Adelaide to live musical theatre both onstage and off.

AYT not only gives the opportunity for young people to perform a full musical onstage, but also offers up and coming production team the chance to Direct, Musically Direct, Choreograph, Design and Stage Manage, all along side professional mentors in their chosen field.

The productions they produce all take place in a couple of weeks from auditions to performance, given everyone a feel of how it works in the professional circuit.

As well as this AYT offers various workshops throughout the year, introducing acting, singing and dance from current professionals, with students working along side Wizzy Evans and Ryan Shepherd (Wicked) Deborah Krizak and Josh Horner (Chorus Line) and Ben Vareen to name a few.

A group from AYT also travelled to America, performing at Disneyland, Universal Studios and Hollywood Boulevard, and did both Disney workshops and also with The Edge performing arts in Hollywood. Several members then travelled to New York and took part in acting, singing and dancing workshops with Broadway professionals.

Then in 2014 we travelled Hong Kong (performing in Disneyland), Paris (performing in

Disneyland) and London performing at Sadlers Wells,  all under the umbrella of

Australian Youth Performing Team. We are now planning our next trip for 2016/17 to Florida, a cruise on the Bahamas and New York.

Our aim is to support and nuture youth in their persuit of excellence in musical theatre
